How it works for buyer:

Buyers can transfer money to the store account by scanning the QR code from the screen of QRoot POS Terminal.

To do this, you need to scan the QR code using the camera built into the mobile banking application.

The QR code contains the seller's bank details in plain text format.

This is completely safe, as you do not need to follow a link to an unknown site!

Once scanned, a draft outgoing payment will be created in mobile banking client.

The buyer can enter the purchase amount and a comment for the payment (name of the store, information about the product or service).

Or seller can pre-encode this data into a QR code.

Which will be very convenient for the client and for accounting for incoming payments.

Plus it will eliminate possible errors.

If the buyer is satisfied with everything, he can send the payment.

Next, show the seller confirmation of payment so that he can check on his own side.

How it works for seller:

The seller scans the product barcode using a high-speed built-in scanner.

It allows to read QR and Bar codes into the terminal itself or into your accounting system.

You can enter the name of goods or services and their cost into the database.

The purchase amount and the name of the product or service are displayed on the terminal screen.

It is possible to display it on your additional screen or Internet browser.

The client scans the QR code using the camera of his mobile bank and sends the payment.

In most European banks, instant payments are processed in up to 10 seconds.

The seller can check the receipt of funds in his bank or through the service of the national bank.

Advantages over classic acquiring terminals:

  • No commission (at acquiring terminals it is about 2%).

  • Instant money transfer (money from classic acquiring terminals is usually credited the next day)

  • In case of blackout, it can work from a power bank or from a built-in battery (optional)

  • Savings on paper. The sales receipt can be saved by reading the QR code

  • Easy integration with accounting systems

  • Your unique design on display

  • Compliance with National Bank regulations

Frequently asked questions:

1. How do you handle integrations with ERPs or existing systems?
We handle integrations effortlessly via API.

Our custom-developed software is designed for easy, 100% free integration with merchants' existing accounting, ERP, and stock/inventory systems.
The terminal utilizes built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cable connectivity to communicate directly with these systems, allowing it to instantly generate or scan QR codes for SKUs and sync that data directly into an ERP.
This is an advantage over classic banking terminals, as they usually cannot be connected to ERP.

2. How can an employee located at a store or point of sale or service provision see confirmation of successful payment?
  • Via the client's banking app
  • Via the merchant's banking app
  • Via email notifications from the banking service
  • Via the national bank's website (if such a service is available in your country)
  • Via the bank's API (new integration costs $100)
  • Confirmation of successful transaction on the terminal screen via Open Banking (if such a service is available in your country).

3. Are we the developer of the standard for accepting payments using the QR Code?

No, most countries currently have their own standards for QR code payments, so there's no point in inventing new ones.

We want our terminal to be compatible with these standards.

We don't have any control over payments. They are made directly from the client's bank account to the business's bank account.

We want businesses to be able to accept cashless payments in the form of traditional bank transfers or cryptocurrencies, without commission.

This could mean significant savings for businesses with low sales margins or large checks.

4. What really sets you apart from a simple POS or a smartphone with QR?

There are three distinct advantages that separate us from simple POS systems or smartphones:

  • Zero Transaction Fees: Traditional mobile card readers like Square or SumUp hit merchants with 1.65% to 1.75% transaction fees. QRoot enables direct account-to-account QR payments with absolutely zero transaction fees.
  • True Hardware Consolidation: A smartphone or simple POS app cannot effectively replace an enterprise hardware ecosystem. Our terminal combines a high-speed industrial barcode/QR scanner, a customizable customer-facing display and a camera. It acts simultaneously as a validator, a feedback terminal, and a self-service kiosk.
  • Deep Modularity: Smartphones are fragile and easily stolen, while traditional POS systems are rigid. Our hardware is entirely modular and can be adapted to the specific environment: it can be mounted inside vending machines, attached securely to a warehouse worker's hand, or set up as a standalone checkout station for couriers.
